Trust in Online News Platforms

Haneen Tamari is currently writing her thesis about "Trust in Online News Platforms" and developed a questionnaire. It would be great if you can grab a few minutes, fill it out and send it back to her by March 25th.

Trust is a key currency online, especially if we're seeing more individual communication move online - news organizations are slowly shifting away from monologue and taking their community role more serious.

This research is an attempt to explore ‘trust’ in information quality, and how far the credibility and neutrality of information can still be attained along such a de-centralised exchange of information.....the focus will be also on how ‘trust’ can be measured, and established, and which factors should affect further a trustworthy information.

Her research hypothesis includes the following:

H1: Trust Levels are influenced by web 2.0 self-publishing. Therefore, building trust in online news platforms must be refined accordingly.

H2: As the web becomes more international, its contents become more international too. Therefore, trust for online information becomes more sensitive to cultural differences.
